Blog Highlight: Ahhhh….Spring Is In The Air – Mets Bag Santana

Though my love for baseball, especially for the New York Mets, runs deep, I am far from capable of writing on the ins and outs of the game.  That’s why I read the great Metsblog.com by Matthew Cerrone.  Though you may not be a Mets fan (many are not), I encourage you to read his blog.  His way of presenting news and commentary is unique and very well done.  He makes a point to point out other excellent bloggers for other Major League teams and even Minor League Teams.

Why this post?  Well, the Mets finally bag Johann Santana (officially once the contract extension is signed).  The starting rotation is set and Tom Glavine is a distant memory (though I appreciate his hiatus from Atlanta in New York).  Read Cerrone’s post and updates on today’s signing of Santana.

Cerrone’s work on Metsblog is an example of how blogging can be a viable media source in today’s market.  Because of the quality of his work, Cerrone is interviewed by major media outlets and his quoted in such places as well.  His stands out, in my opinion, as one of the best overall blogs out there (though I may be a little biased because I’m a Mets fan).  Take some time to take a gander.

Wow.  Santana.  Could this be my year in sports?  The LSU Tigers win the National Championship, and now could the Mets have the pitching to carry them through to the World Series title?  Opening Day could not come any quicker.
